I would like to raise a serious concern regarding the current working environment under the Chief Housekeeper at our cruise Msc Euribia.
Unfortunately, the leadership style being followed is extremely rigid and unprofessional, creating a workplace atmosphere that feels more like control than guidance. Instructions are enforced without proper explanation, discussion, or openness to feedback—even when the tasks or directions appear incorrect.
There is a clear lack of respect towards team members. Concerns and suggestions are not listened to, and communication is often rude and discouraging. Support from leadership is minimal, which directly affects team morale and operational efficiency.
Additionally, the Chief Housekeeper appears to lack sufficient hands-on housekeeping knowledge and experience expected for this role. Instead of focusing on strategic responsibilities of a housekeeper, the role is being reduced to constant supervision of stewards, which creates unnecessary pressure and micromanagement.
If the intention is to perform supervisory or assistant-level duties, it would be more appropriate to officially hold that designation rather than misusing the authority of a senior position.
I strongly believe this individual is not currently fit for the role of Chief Housekeeper. I request senior management to review this situation seriously, as such leadership behavior impacts employee well-being, productivity, and the organization’s reputation.
Please raise this in your page.
