Hello everyone!
I am sharing this publicly in the hope that this story reaches the right people, both crew members and managers within Royal Caribbean Group.
For nearly three years I worked for Royal Caribbean Group, Celebrity Cruises, if to be more specific.
In May 2025 I was placed on company-approved medical therapy and followed every requirement and appointment that was assigned to me: both online and offline. And all was well, I started my recovery.
For several months I remained in contact with representatives of the company’s medical department regarding my case. However, since the beginning of January communication became completely one-sided. My messages and requests for clarification simply stopped receiving any response, so basically it was just me and two specialists, who were working with me and send their conclusions to the company (they also received poor response).
On February 19, 2026, my latest medical evaluation documented clear positive progress, and it was mentioned that I am almost ready to be fit for duty again. But…
Immediately after this report confirming positive dynamics, my case was closed by the company with the explanation that “our vessels do not have the infrastructure onboard to treat your condition.”
This explanation raises obvious questions. I never requested any onboard medical infrastructure, and if the medical evaluation itself confirms positive progress, it is difficult to understand why such infrastructure would suddenly become relevant.
At the same time:
• My profile in the RCL system was immediately blocked.
• I have not been provided with a single official document explaining or supporting this decision.
• There is no clarity about the criteria used, who actually made this determination, or what the legitimacy of this conclusion is.
• The specialists who worked with me are still waiting for a response from the insurance company, because Royal Caribbean Group has simply stopped responding to their requests.
So, to sum up, without any warnings or notice within one day I got erased from the company. I am aware that the word “justice” would sound fantastic here, but at least I hope that maybe by sharing this story my case will be reopened and gets the right and reasonable explanations approved with the documentation.
Also I hope that such an instant closing of the case was based on a valid reasons and not because I simply was no longer useful according to someone up there.
